kite festival day – Makar Sankaranti India

Today its kite festival day. kite festival name is Makar Sankaranti, some person also tell like UTRAYAN.

Makara Sankranti is a mid-winter Hindu festival of India and Nepal. It is celebrated to mark the transition of the Sun from Sagittarius to Capricorn during the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere (or the beginning of Uttarayana). The famous Kumbh Mela is also held on Makar Sankranti every 12 years.

Makar Sankranti is one of the most auspicious day for the Hindus, and is celebrated in almost all parts of the country in myriad cultural forms, with great devotion, fervor & gaiety.

The festival is celebrated by taking dips in the Ganga or any river and offering water to the Sun god. The dip is said to purify the self and bestow punya.

i am just checking which keyword mostly searching by this festival so i got some results.

but not more traffic in keyword of  ”Makar Sankaranti”.  the festival name is not searchin but evey one searching kites, kite , kite festival and other  more.
