Optimize your Website Forms and Reduced Bounce Rate

Web forms are the most essential part of the website and aid the process of website optimisation. Well-developed web forms help users to complete the form successfully without any hassles.

One of the most important parts of the website is web form. They display the over look of the website and make it more attractive, whatever its size, and appealing for the visitors to see.

A well- developed web form works for various purposes such as payment information, contact information, collecting survey results or just receiving general inquiries. Despite its usage, web forms should follow some basic rules to assure proper optimisation and utilisation.

Just follow some of these guidelines to make your site a good example for others to follow.

Add a title

Always give titles to all the forms which are for the primary purposes on your site such as request a quote form, billing information, contact form, etc.

Spilt up long forms

When you have too many long forms then it is necessary to spilt up the form in various sections so that it will be easy for the appliers to fill up the form. Splitting up into Billing address, Shipping address, payment information, etc. this will help to simplify the form. But, be careful when breaking up the form. See that in particular section all the vital things are included. And also put follow up links to switch to the next part of the form.

Label each field

It is a good practice to label each field as it is the most vital part of form fields. Never use short forms or slangs as it will confuse the users. This will make the form filling quite difficult. You also need to add general inquiry form for any inquiry from the customers. If you have country field then do not forget to put list of all countries or the countries to which you are providing services. Along with countries you need to also add state or province field.

Show formatting preferences

It is better to display formatting example if you prefer a particular font for your text. You can also provide area codes if require to avoid long content.

Give good space

Provide big boxes for your respondents to write and see the full content in order to avoid dragging the slide bar.

Buttons

Always take care to use proper buttons. They should be bold and clear. Use buttons that identify the purpose of the multi-step forms. Bold buttons such as BUY, Submit, Next help the users to understand the process.

Always keep in mind never to take web forms lightly as they are one of links between you and customer for successful transaction. And it also helps for the smooth running of your online transactions. The number of successfully completed forms also helps SEO campaign while boosting the page ranks in search engines.
