- Choose the Right Web Hosting Services: Pay the extra few dollars and get a better web host because lot of time people try to save a few bucks and compromise quality it’s not worth it. personally, I’ve had my share of headaches when it comes to bad web hosts there are tons of web hosting companies out of there claiming best but hosting your site on slow servers can drastically reduce your WP blog speed. Choose the reliable and fast web hosting before you install your WP Blog.
- Install WordPress Cache Plugin: I am using the caching plugin W3 Total Cache which can reduce the load time for your blog’s pages and easy the work on your hosting server.
W3 Total Cache has the highest level of compatibility, The fastest and most complete WordPress performance optimization plugin. Trusted by many popular sites. W3 Total Cache improves the user experience of your site by improving your server performance, caching every aspect of your site, reducing the download times and providing transparent content delivery network (CDN) integration. - Install Y slow and Page Speed: Install page speed free tools to check your site’s speed regularly. I advice from my own experience, that you install YSlow from Yahoo developer and Page speed from Google.
- W3C Validated WordPress Theme: Choose a WordPress theme that is validated by html valid. Basically the cleaner your theme files codes can reduce the loading speed, as the browser render your site easily.
- Theme Minifier: It’s the time to minify your WordPress theme using Theme Minifierplugin. Minifies any theme with one click, reducing bandwidth and lowering page loading times.
- Simple “one-click” interface
- Creates copy of theme, leaving original intact
- Reduces bandwidth
- Lowers page loading times
- Compresses images
- Minifies HTML markup, CSS, and Javascript
- Kill Inactive Plugins: This is one of the easiest things you can do to reduce load times, if you use more than 10 plugins in your WP blog then you need to see that you really need them or not, if you are not using those plugins or those inactive so just delete it, it may increase your blog performance
- “Clean” Plugin: Use The “Clean Options” Plugin, When you delete unused plugins they don’t necessarily disappear from your sites database, by using this plugin you can find those unneeded tables and delete them, freeing up database space that didn’t need to be used. Finds orphaned options and allows for their removal from the wp_options table. The less database tables you have, the faster your site will run.
