It has been five years since lia incredibly popular real-time messaging service, Twitter is
completely open to the public. However, little is known on their actual birthday. Earlier this year, Twitter has celebrated the fifth anniversary of the first tweet, reports the Telegraph.
However, the 140-character message sent while the site was still in beta and limited to only a few guest members.
Twitter has not yet tweeted on this specific date, but in March this year, the company posted a blog announcing its fifth anniversary since the code was written for the site, and has published a series of statistics to reflect the popularity the site and general usage.
On average, 140000000 tweets are sent per day, which is almost the sum of 100 million of publication on a daily basis a year ago.
More than 460,000 new users are added every day last month and the number of mobile Twitter users increased by 182% last year.
